Stop Distracted Driving Week

As part of the Ministry of Transportation’s (MTO) annual Road Safety Challenge, Mayor Bryan Paterson proclaimed the week of June 6 to 12, 2016 as Stop Distracted Driving Week! Distracted driving contributes to a large portion of accidents today. Distractions pull the drivers attention away from the road, increasing the likelihood of a collision whether they are texting, eating or even putting on make-up while driving. According to the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) when drivers take their eyes off the road for more than two seconds their crash risk doubles. Good drivers, just drive.
