Young Worker Awareness Program

Young Worker Awareness Program (YWAP) is designed to raise awareness about the hazards students face at work, their legal rights and responsibilities and the importance of reporting their health and safety concerns.

Delivered in partnership with Workplace Safety & Prevention Service, the program is delivered to highschool students by volunteers from various local employees.

Students receive an overview of the Occupational Health & Safety legislation and the rights and responsibilities in the workplace.

Young workers account for 15% of all claims filed with the WSIB and this program aims to help reduce this statistic.
