SMARTRISK No Regrets Live™

SMARTRISK No Regrets Live™ is an internationally acclaimed traveling road show about smart risks and personal choices. It is one hour long and is dedicated to injury awareness and prevention among teenagers. The goal of the program is to help teens save their own lives and escape permanent injury.

The SMARTRISK No Regrets Live™ program is a wide-screen, multi-image presentation that uses high quality quadraphonic sound system and gigantic images created by computer controlled projectors. Live presentations are given by a young injury survivor, who speaks candidly about how their injury has affected their lives. As well, a teenager from the community hosting SMARTRISK No Regrets Live™ presents the positive choices that can be made to reduce the risk of being injured. It is our hope that each participating school will have student volunteers who are willing to take on this role.

Kingston: Partners for a Safe Community and the Safe & Sober Alliance along with the Hotel Dieu Hospital Regional Emergency Medical Services first brought the Heroes program to Kingston in 2003. The event was a great success and brought over 900 young people from both Algonquin Lakeshore Catholic District School Board and Limestone District School Board. The Heroes event name has since been changed to SMARTRISK No Regrets Live™.

Injury is the leading cause of death among young adults and children. If we work together we can prevent the great loss of potential that occurs with this loss of young life.
